Demo Stages - Quick Start

[Main Documentation]

Demo Stages are a great way to begin using OD's stage gear right
away without having to setup your HUD. Demo Stages come with
a HUD which is completely pre-programmed for the stage. Typical time
to setup a demo stage and get it operation is 10 minutes.

Step By Step Setup

  1. The Demo stage comes in a bucket. OD>> Stage Roman Column
    Demo BUCKET
or something like that. Rez that bucket.
OPEN it, copy contents to your inventory.
  2. In your inventory you will have a new folder with all of the items.
  3. Find the HUD and wear it
  4. Find the rez box and drop it on the ground.
  5. Touch the rez box and select BUILD from the blue menu.
The stage will rez and position itself.  Once everything is positioned
you can move or turn the rez box as needed to position the stage.
  6. Once the stage is in position we need to reset the lights.  Click the
yellow [?]  button  at the top left hand corner of the HUD.  Choose
    RESET from the blue menu.
You will see some chat fly by as the
fixtures reset themselves and come online.
  7. we need to set a password... click the
yellow [?]  button  at the top left hand corner of the HUD.  Choose
UTIL from the blue menu, then PASSWORD.  The HUD will prompt
    you to enter a password

    /900 your_password

  8. we need to set an OpChannel... this is a security measure.  Click the
yellow [?]  button  at the top left hand corner of the HUD.  Choose
UTIL from the blue menu, then OPCHANNEL.  The HUD will prompt
you to enter a channel number.   For Example:  to use channel 123...

    /900 123

You can use any channel between 0 and 99999

Controlling the Stage

  1. Click the [L] button in the GROUPS area of the HUD.  An entire
column of buttons will turn green.
  2. Click the various orange buttons ...  numbered 0,1,2,3.....etc
Each of these represents a complete stage 'scene'.
  3. TP your friends.  You are in business.
  4. TURN OFF ALL LIGHTS: Hit the OFF button. Top Left on the HUD.
  5. RETRACT THE LIGHTS. Hit the yellow [?] button. Top Left on the
HUD. Get a menu. Choose RETRACT ALL. The light beams will
physically retract so you can work .
  6. Teeny bit of Tech Talk: What is happening here is...
The L GROUP button enables all of the channels on the stage.
(the channel buttons are the ones that turned green).
The orange buttons are "scene" buttons. They recall scene
data on the active (green) channels. So effectively, we are
enabling all of the channels at once (at least all that are
programmed on this stage) and recalling complete scenes at
once using the orange scene buttons.

The system is very powerful. Very customizable. Very flexible.
